SABER METHOD: TACTICAL EDGED WEAPON DEFENSE BASIC & INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION.

The full title of this course is, S.A.B.E.R. — Strategic Anti-Blade Engagement Response Method. The goal of this course is to train and certify students or instructor candidates in edged weapon defense tactics. Participants will learn to instruct the necessary skills to survive a violent edged weapon assault. Presented in the course are the physical and conceptual skills required for realistic edge weapon defense. Complete instruction includes footwork, methods and angles of attacks, and firearms employment. The material is based in gross motor skills, which can be relied upon under high stress conflict situations

COMBAT PHYSIO-KINETICS BASIC CERTIFICATION.

In this course, participants will learn: reaction time concepts; Time Framing™; Physio-Kinetic™ principles; how takedowns work and how to fix takedowns that are not working; use of jaw control to influence a person’s balance, power and mobility; use of jaw control to fix handcuffing and other techniques that have gone wrong; and how to better adapt and adjust to unexpected environments, weapons and extra assailants, as well as the chaos of a violent confrontation. All of these topics will increase a trainee’s ability to win, in low level force situations, as well as the worst case scenarios.

D.A.R.T.: DEFENSE AND RETENTION TACTICS

Weapon retention will address Impact weapons, hand guns, and Long Guns carried by the officer. Officers will participate in practical hands-on exercises in a variety of situations. All techniques taught in this class are simple and are equally effective for smaller officers as well as large ones. We will work on both In-hand and holstered weapon retention, standing and on the ground. Additionally officers will learn to disarm the armed assailant.

This course trains participants in the operational use of the ASP Tactical Baton.. It provides efficient defensive impact weapon tactics for law enforcement personnel without long hours of training. The program provides portation and presentation procedures as well as striking techniques. These tactics are quickly learned, easily practiced and readily maintained long after the program is completed.

MONADNOCK EXPANDABLE BATON (MEB) BASIC CERTIFICATION.

This course involves lecture, demonstrations, hands-on skill development and certification testing. Participants will learn: key definitions, baton nomenclature, maintenance procedures, target areas as denoted on the Monadnock Baton Chart, as well as demonstrate minimum competency in stance, patterns of movement, grip positions, methods of carry, two draws from a holder, two-handed blocks for various plains of attack, one and two-handed counter-strikes, and baton retention skills.

PRO-SYSTEMS MINI-BATON BASIC CERTIFICATION COURSE.

This course was designed to train students to use the mini-baton. For the purposes of this course, a mini-baton can be any piece of wood, plastic or metal, which is no longer than seven and one half inches in length and not more than one and one half inches in diameter. These can include the Monadnock Persuader Baton series, the Kubaton, the Mini-Mag Flashlight, the Koga SD1 Baton or any Yawara stick. Learn a Practical and effective Repertoire of tactics, including striking, blocking, and control techniques which can be applied in a flexible and functional manner.

SIDE HANDLE BATON BASIC CERTIFICATION COURSE

This course trains participants in the operational use of the Side Handle Baton. The program is simple to learn and easy to understand. Many consider the Side handle baton to be more versatile than the traditional straight baton. This course covers all the fundamental aspects of the side handle baton. It looks at stances, gripping., drawing, baton retention; blocking, defensive striking, and restraint and control techniques.

NRA Fire Arms & Illinois Private Security 20 Hr and 40 Hr courses are offered in conjunction with the Marksmanship Training Group.

ILLINOIS 20 HOUR BASIC FIREARMS TRAINING

This includes a copy of the NRA basic pistol book, certificate, range fee, targets and revolver ammunition. Any additional firearm qualifications are at a rate consistent with FAC re-qualification rates.

ADDITIONAL FAC TRAINING

Fees include a completion certificate, range fee, targets and ammunition at the same cost as FAC re-qualification. We require an additional $20 documentation fee and $20 check made payable to the Department of Professional Regulation for an updated copy of their certificate.

NRA's FIRST STEPS PROGRAM:

First Steps (Firearm Instruction, Responsibility and Safety Training) is the latest addition to the NRA's training programs for new shooters. It provides a hands-on orientation to one specific rifle, pistol or shotgun model in as little as three hours, including a one-hour shooting session on a range.

Marksmanship Training Group, Ltd. requires a 50% deposit at the time of class or re-qualification reservation. If cancellation or request to reschedule happens within 48 hours of class or re-qualification, we reserve the right to charge an additional 20% of the student's cost. If the student fails to appear, the deposit is automatically forfeited. All certificates will be issued only upon payment in full. If a student is deemed unsafe or does not meet the minimum standard a "no pass" will be entered in the student's file and no certificate issued; this however does not preclude payment in full.
